Current Irony

Oh, the irony. Oh, the hypocrisy.

On the irony side, we have Al Gore selling his Current TV cable disaster network to, of all people, Al Jazeera, the propaganda arm of Mid-East terrorist groups. What makes this ironic is that Al Gore, high priest of the global warming fanatics climate change advocates failed weather forecasters, is selling out to a company built and funded by petrodollars.

And we have an added dose of irony arising from the fact that "an extremist propaganda outlet that seeks the destruction of America" is being replaced on U.S. cable TV by a terrorist-controlled media organization.

Not that we'll notice much difference.

The hypocrisy comes from Al's insistence that the deal close before 12/31/2012 so that he and his 'evil rich' partners could avoid paying higher income taxes under the fiscal cliff debacle agreement signed this week.
Mr. Gore and his partners were eager to complete the deal by Dec. 31, lest it be subject to higher tax rates that took effect on Jan. 1...
Not to mention that Gore rejected an offer by Glenn Beck's media company to buy Current TV.

Why? (Warning: put down any drink containers and swallow any liquids before reading the next paragraph.)
Beck's company "was told that 'the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view.' "
So by implication Al Jazeera -- mouthpiece for terrorists -- is more aligned with Al Gore, Keith Olbermann, and the rest of the Current TV liberals than a conservative American.

Not a surprise, really, once you stop and think about it.

But there is one bit of good news in all this.
"... as a result of the purchase, Time Warner Cable dropped the station with a message reading to viewers "This channel is no longer available on Time Warner Cable."
I'm not a big fan of Time Warner -- actually, I despise them -- but in this case I'm on their side.
