Sunday Funnies 2015.09.27

Tonight is not only a total lunar eclipse, but a rare and dramatic supermoon blood moon eclipse.
Supermoons occur when the moon reaches its full phase at or near the satellite's closest approach to Earth, and appears abnormally large and bright as a result. The Sept. 27 event is quite special; the last supermoon eclipse occurred in 1982, and the next won't take place until 2033.
Check it out if you get the chance. Full viewing info can be found here. More information about a blood moon can be found here.

Q: Did you hear about the great new restaurant on the moon?
A: The food is excellent, but there's no atmosphere.

Q: How do you know when the moon is going broke?
A: When it's down to its last quarter.

Q: "Why does the Moon orbit the Earth?"
A: "To get to the other side?"

Q: How does a man on a moon get his haircut?
A: Eclipse it.

Q: Why haven't they sent a woman to the moon?
A: Because it doesn't need cleaning!

Mick and Seamus staggered out of a bar in Limerick.  They sat on a bench to get their bearings

Seamus, in a philosophical mood, said to Mick, 'Which do you think is farther away - Dublin or the moon?'

Mike thinks for a full minute and says, 'It must be Dublin.  I can see the moon up there, but I've looked around and I cannot see Dublin anywhere'.

The next night, Mick and Seamus staggered out of a pub. Mick said to Seamus, 'What a beautiful night. Look at the moon.'

Seamus stops and looks at Mick. He says, 'You are wrong, that's not the moon, that's the sun.'

They start arguing for a while. Then a third Irishman staggers out of the pub. They stop him and ask, 'Sir, could you please help settle our argument? Tell us what that thing is up in the sky that's shining. Is it the moon or the sun?'

The stranger looks at the sky and then looks at them, and says, 'Sorry, I don't live around here.'

I don't know if there are men on the moon, but if there are they must be using the earth as their lunatic asylum - George Bernard Shaw
